Plain-capped Starthroat 2

Plain-capped Starthroat may not be the most colorful Hummingbird in the ABA area, but it certainly one the most sought after. We got fantastic looks at the Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon, along with a dozen or so other thrilled birders. A new challenge with this portrait was how to handle wings that cannot really be seen in flight. The photo I used for reference stopped the bird in motion, making the wings sharper than I chose to so I simplified it considerably.
