Red-necked Phalarope

The Red-necked Phalaropes are in the SF Bay Area, but not for long. Time to get out and see them before they leave us for breeding grounds. They looks stunning now, but when the return in the fall, they won’t have the vivid colors they have now. This is preliminary work on a portrait of a swimming female.
